All the goofing around in that illusion of Matrix is now officially over. We have now been unplugged from our sweet sleep and before we could realize, we landed ourselves into the real world.
Classes for term one began today and they were preceded by a requirement to read around 100 pages. They say the number is only going to increase in days to come. I need to organize myself, I need to find my way to handle all the reading and the meetings and the classes.
It was a good start of term one with an important lesson to learn about experience, hard facts and hypothesis people make using combination of these two. "Previous success is as dangerous as previous failure and hence it is important to be clinical all the time" stated our professor when discussing about this classical issue.
And yes, We got our first group assignment today.
Session after this to help us make the best use of all the IT tools and the social network sites was quite informative.
And then came Erik, to deliver a solo session on introduction to General Management. There was already some pre-reading required and so the session revolved around discussing the case. Purpose of this session as stated by Erik, "It doesn't matter whether you choose a general management job or not; you will still end up in positions where you need to think like a general manager. So, it is a good idea to know what it is all about".
Most exciting part of the day - Our opening day photos were made available online today and I spotted a couple of close-up shots of myself in there .... yippee :-)
