So far, we have been hearing so much about diversity in our classroom, in terms of backgrounds, in terms of cultures, in terms of nationalities, in terms of gender, in terms of experience, in terms of way we think ..
Today, I got to see the diversity of the "Other Side". Yes, you guessed it right; I am talking about our professors.
3 classes, one after another, by 3 different professors.
Two male, One female.
Two wearing business formals, one in smart casuals.
But that was not the only "diversity" I found in them.
To the same challenge of limited time, each one had a different approach to overcome the challenge;
Each of them had different weights assigned to various aspects of our study and hence their own grading pattern;
Each of them had a different policy for meeting outside the classroom for asking doubts/queries, etc;
Each of them wanted to run the class in a their own unique way;
Each of them had a different penalty for late-comers;
Each of them had their own style of teaching and explaining;
Printed assignments/Email assignments; Printed notes/Use of computers;Group assignments/Self-Revelation - there was a diversity in so many aspects, preferences and methodologies.
But then, there was one thing in common to all of them - their priority. What was clearly evident was that despite all the diversity, the priority for all of them was and will always be 'To make us have the best learning experience, at par with standards at IE'.
And yes, although each of them mentioned their own assignment, exam and quiz timelines, there was also a 'beginning of term' presentation by Steve, where we got to know him better and where he declared the dates for important sessions and exams.
Time to rock and roll !!
