Mola - a Spanish start-up accelerator for Internet based business - which is now gradually extending its wings in Latin America and the USA, happened to cross paths with IE today.
One of its office bearers had come over from their office at exotic Mallorca Islands to have a info-session with us, during our Entrepreneurship Management class.
The work they are doing is impressive and he invited all aspiring entrepreneurs among our class to share their ideas with Mola and they will look at it. So, for somebody out there in our class with a business idea - at least one funding source channel is now opened :-)
Next was the Technology and Innovation class - first session, and in this session Greg, our professor talked about how IT is an important factor by everyone who aspires to be an entrepreneur and also for anyone who aspires to be a manager in big corporations.
He then talked about current trends, resources, challenges in the IT industry and the way his class has been structured.
So, for those who want to start a internet based business - IT requirements analysis - can now be done after studying this course :-)
Last was the cost accounting session where we discussed different costs - direct, indirect, etc that product and service based companies incur and common fallacies in the costs calculated.
Well, that just about provides just enough information to someone keen to start an internet based business - how to calculate costs of services and products, what IT infrastructure is needed and how to get it and how to fund the project - all in the same day.
At the end of class, I was curios to know how many people will actually take advantage of this study today :-)
